Snap! Raise Campaign Update

Our Snap! Raise campaign is going well! Donations will go towards uniforms, new instruments & equipment, professional staff, competition and festival fees. We are close to meeting our goal- Please help spread the word about our fundraiser by sharing it with your friends and family.

Snap Fact Overview:

1. Safe and Protected- Snap! Raise is the safest online donation platform available. All data is private and never redistributed.

2. Online donation platform – Reach potential donors via email, social media, and text to ask them to support your program and visit the page. Where they can seamlessly donate.(Think donation letter but we reach a lot more people and much easier for them to support)

3. Email Strategy- all supporters will receive a receipt for their gift that is tax deductible, included with a personalized thank you from the student. There are three reminder emails sent to donors, with an option to unsubscribe.

4. Reverse Flow- Snap’s platform and process is what makes their campaigns so successful. It allows an extensive reach across communities by providing options to connect with multiple donors and their social networks, maximizing our raising efforts.

Scripps Ranch Band and Orchestra Festival

The third annual Scripps Ranch Band and Orchestra Festival will be taking place on Thursday and Friday, March 15th and 16th at MMS! Performance information will be made available soon.

This event relies heavily upon student and parent volunteers (from both MMS & SRHS) for specific jobs that the festival requires. Please sign up and help make this event a success.

We need the tall cans, and some of the most popular flavors are Grape, Raspberry, Lemon, Watermelon, and Black and White.
A couple of  places where you can buy cases  are at Food 4 Less and the Costco Business Center in Kearny Mesa (you need to be a member of Costco, but you don’t have to be a business to shop there).

Congratulations to the SRHS Marching Band!

SRHS Marching Band 2017

In case you hadn’t heard the news, it’s been an unprecedented award winning season for our Marching Band! With a score of 85.4, SRHS placed second in the division finals! Our soloist took home the Soloist award and a $500 cash prize. Having only taken second place, we needed to our score to be one of the top six non-division-winning scores to advance to Grand Championships!  Only one non-division-winning 5A group outscored us, which left us in great position to make grand championships. When the 6A scores were announced, we needed the 6th place band to score less than 85.4, and that group came in with a score of 85.35! We made grand championships by five 100ths of a point! Ecstatic and exhausted, we performed again later that evening and finished 9th out of 12! We also won the Viewer’s Choice Award (not too shabby for a 21 hour day).

We have much to be thankful for this year:
To our talent Students- This unforgettable moment is due to your hard work and dedication! It was a joy to watch your show!
To Director Shedd- your tireless leadership is inspirational!
